We’re proud to celebrate reaching a community of 10,000 people passionate about the future of quantum-safe networking.

This milestone reflects the incredible momentum behind quantum technology and the current transition to quantum safe networking. For more than 30 years, Toshiba has been driving innovation in quantum technologies with a focus on protecting our networks and sensitive data today and for the long term.

Today, we’re excited to see that vision become reality through commercial deployment of our quantum safe and crypto agile technology.

As organisations prepare for increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, the demand for quantum-safe networking continues to grow. It’s inspiring to see businesses recognising and acting upon the need to future-proof their communications for the quantum era.

A huge thank you to our customers, partners, researchers and broader quantum ecosystem for being part of this journey. We’re excited for what’s ahead as we continue working toward a more secure digital future.

We are proud to announce that Dr Andrew Shields, Vice President of Toshiba Europe and Head of the Quantum Technology division, has been elected a Fellow of The Royal Society (FRS) — one of the world’s most prestigious scientific honours.

This recognition reflects Dr. Shields’ outstanding contributions to quantum technology and more than two decades of pioneering research, development and commercialisation at Toshiba. His leadership has helped establish Toshiba as a global leader in secure quantum networking, driving advances in quantum key distribution, secure communications and the future quantum internet.

His election further strengthens Toshiba Europe’s distinguished scientific legacy. He joins an exceptional group of Toshiba leaders recognised by the Royal Society, including Professor Sir Michael Pepper FRS and Professor Roberto Cipolla FRS of Toshiba’s Cambridge Research Laboratory.

Founded in 1660, the Royal Society recognises individuals whose work has made transformative contributions to science, engineering and technology. Dr. Shields’ election marks an important milestone not only in his career, but also in the growing global recognition of quantum technology as a critical foundation for future digital infrastructure.

Congratulations, Andrew, on this remarkable achievement.
